Talking about R Madhavan’s films and career, how can you forget the mention of Tanu Weds Manu? Released in 2011, the film received a good response from the audience and its sequel ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ (released in 2015) surpassed the success of the original film. Everyone liked the chemistry of R Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut in the film. So, in a recent interview, R Madhavan was asked if there is a possibility of bringing another film in the Tanu Weds Manu franchise.
The actor mentioned that there is no point in killing a dead horse and it is ‘complete’ with the franchise. He made it clear that he did not want to return to the screen in the role of Manu. “I think there is water under the bridge. There’s no point in killing a dead horse… you know, it’s very difficult to get the original material, and then there are the movie expectations. See, if it’s a sequel to the Avengers or Superhero series, it’s easy because you have a template. But with Tanu Wads Manu this is impossible. And I think I’ve done it. I don’t want to go back as Manu now, ”R Madhavan told YouTuber Jaby Koey as quoted by Hindustan Times.
Earlier, in a second interview, Madhavan had also responded to rumors about a remake of his 2001 film Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein. “I wish them well. I think that’s silly and that’s my opinion. I don’t want to be touched. As a producer I wouldn’t do that. I greet them from the bottom of my heart, I do. And I hope they will be surprised, because there is really nothing to be said in the industry, but there are a lot of memories attached to it for a lot of people, ”Madhavan told Pinkvilla.
At the forefront of work, Madhavan is preparing for the release of Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. The film is a biopic based on the life of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan. The film is set to release on July 1.
