Earlier this year, Saha was made clear that he was no longer part of the Indian team. The Indian team management had informed the veteran cricketer that the 37-year-old wicketkeeper would not be considered for the Indian team.
After the boycott, Saha slapped head coach Rahul Dravid and met BCCI president Sourav Ganguly.
Not only did Saha’s international career falter, but the veteran cricketer found himself in a whirlpool of confusion at the domestic front. Saha had apologized after being accused by CAB joint secretary Devvrat Das of causing him to miss home matches for Bengal but she never got it. Not only was Saha pardoned, but Das was sent to England as the administrative manager of the Indian team and that was the final nail in the coffin. Saha then decided to end his time with the Bengal team.
CAB gave him NOC and this ended his long tenure of 15 years with CAB.
“Mr. Riddhiman Saha came to the CAB and sought NOC from the association in the application of President Avishek Dalmiya,” the CAB said.
It further said, “The CAB has agreed to Mr. Saha’s request and given him NOC to play for another state. CAB wishes him all the best for his future endeavors. ”
“I have been asked to reconsider their decision,” Saha said after receiving the NOC. “I was asked earlier,” PTI quoted Saha as saying. Requested repeatedly today. But my decision has already been made. So today I have taken NOC.
But the cricketer said he would never be angry against Bengal and was ready to serve again if needed in the future. He said, “I have never had ego in the Bengal Cricket Foundation. Maybe, there was a disagreement with someone (Joint Secretary Debu), so I had to make this decision.
Before leaving the Eden Gardens complex, Saha said, “I wish Bengal all the best. I am ready to help if needed in the future and if the situation allows. ”
Saha was in the last news for the role of player-cum-guide with Tripura but a senior official claimed he had asked for “higher fees” for the contract. “There has been no development so far after the demand for higher fees apart from the regular match fee (Rs 2.4 lakh per match),” the official told PTI. The official said, “There are currently problems between the two groups in Tripura and a case is pending in the High Court against the current establishment. Elections are scheduled for September.
Asked where he would go in the next session, Saha said, “Discussions are underway with several states. But, it has not been decided yet, you will be informed when you are 100% sure. ”
But the veteran keeper claims that Ganguly had promised to keep him in the Indian team as long as he was president, and on his behalf, Saha could never present conclusive evidence of the former India captain’s word of mouth in a conversation with him. Legislation. Were
“Grandma (Sourav Ganguly) congratulated me on WhatsApp after scoring 61 against New Zealand in Kanpur and said, ‘As long as I am here (leading the BCCI), you will be in the team.'” I am struggling to understand how things changed so fast, ”the wicketkeeper-batsman alleged in his post after receiving boots from the national team.
After making his debut against Hyderabad in 2007, the Siliguri-born Saha played in 122 first-class and 102 List A games. He has also played 40 Tests and 9 ODIs for India.
