After signing a two-year deal with Gaur, the Spaniard will wear his orange until the summer of 2024.
Guarotsena spent last season in the colors of Logron in the Primera Division RFEF (Spanish third-tier), where he was the fourth-highest goal scorer in the league with 14 hat-tricks and two strikes.
Contributing a total of 17 goals (including three assists), the Spaniard’s play helped Lagron advance to the promotion play-offs.

“A few weeks ago, I got a call from the club’s football director Ravi (Puskur). FC Goa was one of the first teams to contact me this summer and Ravi told me his project details which gave me confidence. I then spoke to the coach (Carlos P).
“Apart from Goa, I had options for clubs from different countries as well as Spain. When I spoke to Goa, it was very clear that I wanted to participate in a project where I could win something. I wanted to win the championship, the league. And for me FC Goa was the best chance to win something this season. And so I joined FC Goa. “
Ravi also expressed satisfaction over the completion of the player’s journey.
“We are just happy to have someone like Iker Gwarotsena on board. We wanted to bring in a player who would contribute to creativity and add to the drama. He brings a lot of decisive quality in the last 3 and he has a lot of versatility, as he can play equally well in many positions. His personality matches what the team needs, ”said Pushkar.
Born and raised in the northern Spanish city of Bilbao, Iker Guarotsena spent most of his football career in his home country.
With a large Spanish squad with Gaur, the winger-forward should feel comfortable in the style of play.
After working with the youth teams of Arenas Getxo and Athletic Bilbao, Garrotsena made his senior football debut in 2011 with CD Basconia in the Tessera Division, the fourth division of the Spanish Football League system.
Garotuxena has extensive experience playing in many other foreign leagues. Stents with Athletic Bilbao Reserves, CD Tenerife, CD Mirandes and Cultural Leonesa for the 29-year-old, who made his first overseas debut in 2018 for the Polish top-division outfit, the Pogon Szczecin.
He then played the next two seasons for the Greek Super League club Volos NPS and A-League (men’s) team Western United, before returning to Spain and signing with UD Lagrones in the last primer division RFEF (Spanish third-tier). Year
