On SmackDown on July 8, Roman Reyns will return to his ‘Island of Relevance’ to defend his next title against the most important rival of his career. In addition, the former women’s champion is booked to attend Friday night’s July 8 episode of SmackDown at Dickie’s Arena in Fort Worth, TX.
On the June 17 episode of SmackDown, Roman Reyns defeated Riddle One Game in April to retain his undisputed WWE Universal title in his first championship defense since WrestleMania 38 Night Two.
With no one in the locker room to challenge him for the championship, Tribal Chief Hale was about to leave WWE after a promo when The Beast Incarnate made a triumphant return to the Blue Brand.
In the early days, with the intention of joining hands, Lesnar hit Reigns and The Usos with a trifle of F5s. Shortly after the scuffle, WWE confirmed that Reynolds would defend his title in the final Man Standing match against Lesnar at this year’s SummerSlam main event.
We haven’t heard from the champion since that night. Then on Raw, it was announced that Head of the Table would return to SmackDown this week. Nothing special has been revealed about his appearance, but it is expected that he will address the confirmation of the SummerSlam Championship match by the WWE.
Former female champion of the show Rhonda Rossi has also been announced for this week’s SmackDown. In Money in the Bank, The Badest Woman on the Planet, Natalya is defeated in an almost submission battle between two experts.
Shortly after retaining the championship, Liv Morgan, who won the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match at Ladder Match, fulfilled her contract for the championship match.
In a short matchup, a former Riott Squad member took advantage of Rousey’s injured leg and pinned her to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion. Like a true champion, the Russians hugged Morgan and gave him the title in a friendly gesture.
Now the former champion will return to SmackDown to end her championship reign at the hands of a rising superstar. Rumors also suggest that the Russians will challenge Morgan for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at SummerSlam.
