WNBA legend Sue Bird is retiring this season

WNBA legend and all-time assistant leader of the league Sue Bird announced on Thursday that she will retire at the end of the 2022 season.

Bird posted on social media, “I have decided this will be my last year. “I love every single minute, and still do, so I’ll play my last year like this little girl played before.”

Bird had previously said she plans to retire after the 2021 campaign, but signed a one-year deal with Seattle Storm, where she played her entire 21-year WNBA career, this off-season, and has so far committed nothing.

In 2002 1 overall selection, Bird is a four-time WNBA Champion with Storm and a five-time Olympic gold medalist with USA Basketball. He won two NCAA Championships with UConn.
