The New York Yankees activate Stanton from the injured list

New York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton has been active from the injured list and is in the starting lineup for Saturday’s game against the Detroit Tigers.

On May 25, Stanton returned to the injury list for the fourth time in a row due to swelling in his right ankle.

He is hitting .285 with 11 homers and 35 RBI for the Yankees, going 8-2 in his absence and still has the highest record in the Major at 37-15.

Since 2011, Stanton has been on the list of all injuries except for the 2014, 2017 and 2018 seasons. His career batting average is .269 with 358 homers and 928 RBIs.

In related roster moves, the Yankees selected Miguel Andujar for Triple-A Scranton / Wilkes-Barre.
