During the investigation into the murder of Sidhu Moos Wala, his family has released a statement to the media and fans from the Instagram account of the late Punjabi artist. The family has requested that the press not give the ‘appeal’ to the family unless it comes directly from their family. He said he would make all appeals on the matter from his Instagram account.
“We urge the media that any appeal from Sidhu Veer’s family will be made through Sidhu’s official Instagram handle. We request you not to add any statement in the name of family appeal, ”the statement read in Punjabi.
Sidhu Moos Wala, a Punjabi musician-politician, was shot dead in Mansa, Punjab, on May 29, a day after the state government reduced his security. Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has emerged as the main suspect in the murder case. Many fans were present at the funeral of Moos Wala. His father has appealed to him to join Moos Wala’s family for the ‘Bhog’ ceremony on June 8.
In a recent operation, Punjab police arrested another suspect on Sunday night. A team of Punjab Police and Delhi Police have launched a search for eight shooters belonging to the Lawrence gang.
Meanwhile, musicians around the world continue to pay homage to the singer. The video of Nigerian rapper Berna Boy crying remembering the late Punjabi singer during his concert went viral. Indigenous Punjabi singer and actor Amy Virk has announced that he is postponing the release of his upcoming film ‘Sher Bagga’ to express his condolences to the late Punjabi singer.
“As a team Sherbaga, we are going to meet you all at your nearest cinema on June 10 to celebrate the movie. But we are not in the mood to celebrate this art form because of the very sad and unfortunate times. Therefore, we have postponed the release of #SherBagga (more details will be shared soon), “he said in a post on his Instagram story over the weekend.
