Judge Jennifer Dorsey of the U.S. Court of Appeals for Nevada dismissed the lawsuit, saying Mayorga’s lawyer, Leslie Mark Stowell, was responsible for “unfaithful behavior” during the trial.
In a 42-page judgment issued Friday (June 10) but picked up by US media on Saturday (June 11), Dorsey accused Stovall of “misusing and blatantly tampering with due process.”
She criticized the use of a leak and stolen documents detailing the attorney-client discussion between Ronaldo and his lawyers.
Dorsey said the lawyer’s actions had tarnished the image of Ronaldo beyond injury and hurt Ronaldo.
“I think the purchase and continued use of these documents was a bad faith, and the misrepresentation of the documents and their confidential content in the fabric of (plaintiff Catherine) Mayorga’s claims will not hold Ronaldo’s prejudice against disqualifying Stowell.” “Strict restrictions are deserved,” the ruler said.
