St. Louis Cardinals' Jack Flaherty addresses after two innings with a stiff right shoulder

St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Jack Flaherty missed his start against the Chicago Cubs on Sunday due to a stiffness in his right shoulder.

Flaherty threw 49 pitches, allowing one hit, allowing two walks, and right-handed Nick Whitgren hit two before being released at the top of the third inning.

Flaherty, 26, was ruled out of the season until June 15 due to a right shoulder injury. He was given a platelet-containing-plasma injection into his shoulder in early March to treat burns on his shoulder.

This was his third debut after his return. He was 0-0 at the start of Sunday, entering the 7.50 ERA.

He was 9-2 with a 3.22 ERA in 17 last season when his pace slowed due to a sloping injury.
