The deal was complicated by Malaysia’s decision to change agents, but sources told ESPN that the problem has now been resolved and the transfer should be completed in the next few days.

Manager Eric Ten Hague expects Dutch internationals to be on time for the pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia on July 8.

Sources told ESPN that United have had positive discussions with Ajax over Lisandro Martinez’s contract.

The 24-year-old, who could play in midfield or defense and is also wanted by Arsenal, is valued at around £ 43m, but Ajax has indicated he is ready to settle the fever.

Arsenal have returned two bids for Martinez, giving United a chance to work on his contract.

The Old Trafford boss has also questioned winger Anthony’s signature, but Ajax have so far stuck to his 70-meter assessment and United are not interested in that price.

Sources told ESPN that United and Barcelona are still discussing the transfer of midfielder Frankie de Jong.

An initial fee of £ 56m has been accepted, but there are still a lot of details, including payment structure, performance-related add-ons of around 15m, and personal terms.

United had expected De Jong to sign for the first time this summer, but sources told ESPN that Malaysia is the first new player to enter through the gates under Ten Hague.

Ten Hague’s first match as manager will be against Liverpool on July 12 in Bangkok.
