NORWALK, Ohio – Ron Caps took first place in the Fun Car Qualifying Competition at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals.
The previous winner, who won last week in Bristol, Tennessee, clocked his Toyota GR Supra at 328.38 mph in 3.901 seconds on Friday.
“It was a great job for our team,” Caps said at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park. “Tomorrow we’ll have a cloud cover and it’s going to be fast and you’ll get to see great racing. It’s hard to get to No. 1. There’s going to be a dogfight and a lot of fun tomorrow and we’re looking forward to it.”
The Brittany Force is at the top in fuel, the Erica Anders is at the top in pro stock and the Eddie Crowe is at the top in pro stock motorcycles. The force had a track record of 3,666 at 333.08 on Friday. Under hit 6.537 at 210.11 in the Camaro on Friday and Crawick hit 6.09 at Suzuki at 199.05 on Saturday in his 50th career.
