PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed terms on a one-year deal with safety Jack Tart, the team announced Friday.
The 30-year-old Tart played his first seven seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, posting four interceptions and 18 pass breakups in 80 games.
A second-round pick in 2015, Tart started 64 games for 49 players, up from 14 last season, with 66 tackles.
Safety is arguably the thinnest spot on the Eagles roster. He was interested in some of the top free agents before Just-Reid this off-season, but he didn’t. He brought Anthony Harris back on a one-year contract in March. The Harris and Marcus apps came as spring launch starters.
Tart needs to have the opportunity to compete for playing time, as he joins a group that includes Kevin Wallace, Andre Chacher and Jared Maiden.
