Minnesota Timberwolves, Torian Prince agrees to 2-year, 16 million contract extension, sources said

Minnesota Timberwolf forward Torian Prince has agreed to a two-year, $ 16 million contract extension, sources told ESPN on Tuesday.

Prince established himself as one of the strongest rotational players on the Timberwolves return to the Western Conference playoffs last season, averaging 7.3 points and 2.5 rebounds in 17 minutes in a game.

Prince landed with the Timberwolves after playing parts of the 2020-21 season with the Brooklyn Nets and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Prince can enter the agency for free, but guard Patrick joins Beverly to sign the extension before the off-season. New Timberwolves president Tim Connelly and coach Chris Finch of Basketball Operations stressed the importance of keeping Prince a part of the team, and management met with Prince’s representatives at CAA Sports on Tuesday night, sources said.
