WBA and WBO Junior Welterweight Champion Kaley Rees is back in Hollywood, working with two-time Best Actress Oscar-winner Jodie Foster on season 4 of “True Detective” on HBO.
The cable network announced the fourth season of the show, which will be officially called “True Detective: Night Country” and will be shot in Iceland.
Reese will play the role of Reese Detective Evangeline Navarro alongside Foster’s Detective Liz Denver during the investigation into the disappearance of six people in Ennis, Alaska. “True Detective” is an anthology crime series that was nominated for seven Emmy Awards in its first season, when Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey were the lead actors. Harrelson and McConaughey are both executive producers of the show. Isa Lopez is a writer, director and showrunner, and Barry Jenkins, who directed and wrote the Oscar-winning film “Moonlight,” is also an executive producer.
This is another big role for Reese, who made her acting debut in the 2021 independent film “Catch the Fair One”, which helped her write and develop. “Catch the Fair One” won the Audience Award at the Tribeca Film Festival, and Reese was nominated for Best Female Lead at the Independent Spirit Awards.
Reyes, 35, (19-7-1, 5 KO) The last fight was on November 19, 2021, when she defeated Jessica Camera to decide to retain the WBA title. Reese initially won the WBA title on November 6, 2020, when she defeated Kandi Wyatt by unanimous decision.
Reese has won the last six fights since losing to Cecilia Brechus in a unanimous decision for the undisputed welterweight title in 2018. Reese has been boxing professionally since 2008.
