Extreme Rules 2022 Set for Philadelphia Returns; Updated WWE PLE schedule

Brotherly Love was the home of Paul Heyman’s Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), the stomping ground for some of the most infamous hardcore matches in professional wrestling history.

Later, Vince McMahon took over the brand and merged it with WWE to promote the Extreme Rules concept, which was later transformed into a gimmick-based pay-per-view event.

The annual edition of this year’s Extreme Rules will go down on October 8 from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. WWE’s announcement also states that tickets for the event will be available for sale on the official website on Friday, July 15 at 10 am.

As is the custom in Extreme Rules, many matches are played that night in “extreme” conditions, such as tables matches, ladders matches, or even I for a I matches. Then an Extreme Rules match is usually titled the event where the WWE performers basically get the “No-DQ Plus Anything Fart” capability.

This will be the second time Extreme Rules Broadcast from the Wells Fargo Center in Philly, as Promotion had previously offered the 2019 installment of the premium live event from the same venue.

That night, Brock Lesnar became the Universal Champion by fulfilling his Money in the Bank contract over former champion Seth Rollins in the main event match. The Undertaker’s final match was played live that night.

In more news, this will be the first time since the Elimination Chamber in March 2020 to host a WWE Premium Live event in Philadelphia. COVID-19 was WWE’s last major event before the global epidemic forced the company to produce PPVs and weekly. TV shows from a closed environment.
