The 2022 US Open Championship returns for the first time since 1988 at Brooklyn Country Club in Brooklyn, Massachusetts, with 156 golfers competing for the top 60 spot. 2011 US Open winner Rory McIlroy entered the weekend as a favorite after winning the RBC Canadian Open last weekend. McIlroy will have to contend with tough champion John Rahm, PGA Championship winner Justin Thomas and Masters champion Scottie Schaffler.

Cards should be number 3 this weekend.

To win: Shofale has never won a major title, but has always been in controversy at the US Open. He has played the tournament five times in his career and has T-5, T-6, T-3, 5 and T-7. Shofel always seems to be the best when the situation is most treacherous and the ground is at its deepest. It’s time for the X-Men to get their first big win.

Dustin Johnson Top-10 Finish (+400)
Bearman: This choice is not about the LIV Tour, but about gaining a 4-1 top-10 value over a former World No. 1 player with a strong resume to play well in Eastern courses. He has played six top 10 matches at the US Open, including one win in 2016. He’s not terribly good this year, but if he carries his A-game and golf with a chip on his shoulder, there could also be a 40-1 cash reward for winning.
Colin Morikawa Top-10 Finish (+175)
Bearman: I will play Morikawa to win and get into the top-10 because he is the premier ball-striker on this tour and this type of game is in demand for this course. Their struggle has always been good, but Morikawala has found it in the last two major. The course is designed for the fifth and 20th players in the T-Off and the third round of the Grand Slam is not out of the question.
Bryson DeChambeau Top-5 Finish (+800)
Collins: DeChambeau is healthy and amazing under the radar this week. This is a literal “bang for the buck” page. He will try his best to win the US Open.
Playoff to decide the winner (+310)
Collins: Members of the media don’t like to hear the word playoff in golf, but every week three to four people have a chance to play in the playoffs. Most people’s game seems to be at its peak.
Xander Schauffele Top-10 Finish (+225.),
Panel: Although Chaffell did not win a major title, she did well in the US Open course. He has posted five top-10s with three top-fives in each of his five matches. Schoffel ranks seventh in strokes received: T-to-green and ninth in strokes: Total. That beautiful game should get another strong weekend at the US Open.
Victor Holland Miss Cut (+225)
Panel: Howland has not been in the top 20 in a stroke play event since March and has never been in the top 10. It’s also awesome around the greens – 204th in strokes received around the greens – and because of the small size of these greens, it could bother him this weekend.
Max Homa Top-20 Finish (+160)
Stain: Homa’s first two tour wins were on both major championship quality courses. He made the T5 at Memorial – where he needed only 99 putts that week, and the T-13 at the PGA Championships last month.
Adri Arnos Top-40 Finish (2-1)
Stain: Arnos is far from competing this week. He dominated the DP World Tour, completed the T-30 in the PGA Championship and is the second best player in Spain after John Rahm.
