Ex no. 1 Pick Mark Apple made his MLB debut at the age of 30, pitching No. 9 for the Philadelphia Phillies.

1 Total selector Mark Apple, a month before his 31st birthday, made his major debut Wednesday night and scored in the scoreless ninth innings for the Philadelphia Phillies.

At 30 years and 349 days old, Apple – whose baseball career includes a three-season absence from the game – is the oldest Topol selection in the June draft at the time of its MLB debut (since 1965).

The right-hander shot and recorded a strikeout as the Phillies lost 4-1 to the Atlanta Braves.

Total 1 in 2013, and in 2015 it was part of the Philadelphia business. Due to injury and disability, Apple dropped baseball in 2018 before returning to the Phillies Institute in 2021.

Apple has spent the last two seasons playing doubles and triple-A for the Phillies. He has a 5-0 record and 1.61 ERA in 19 games for Leah Valley this season and was promoted to Major last Saturday.

One of the most decorated pitchers in NCAA history, Apple was ranked eighth by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2012, but returned to Stanford for its senior season, and in 2013 the Astros picked up Chris Bryant.
