Jacques Petave, ranked 33rd on the ESPN 300, gave Brent Wennables a big shot in the arm at the Oklahoma event on Wednesday.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound prospect pitway at Langham Creek High School in Houston ranks seventh on ESPN’s rankings. He chose the Sooners over Texas.
Joining Guer High School (Denton, Texas) quarterback Jackson Arnold (No. 39) and Record High School (Tallahassee, Fl.) Wide receiver Keon Brown (No. 224) is the third ESPN 300 commit for the Sooners.
Petave’s commitment has resulted in Oklahoma joining Nicholas Anderson (No. 15) from 2022 to become the top-15 receiver for the second straight cycle.
