Jesse Lingard was approached by the MLS club for a ‘ground breaking’ deal

Sources told ESPN that Jesse Lingard will travel to the United States this summer to listen to the pitches of Major League Soccer teams looking forward to moving forward.

Lingard has left Manchester United as a free agent and is being followed by Premier League clubs including West Ham and Everton. The two MLS parties are also interested and are ready to meet with the 29-year-old and his representatives in what has been described as an “unprecedented” deal.

Lingard has not yet decided on his next move and is keeping his options open before choosing where he will play next season. Gareth Southgate is considering returning to the squad ahead of the World Cup in Qatar in November, with regular play times for England internationals.

Lingard officially left Old Trafford in late June and played more than 200 games for his childhood club, scoring 35 goals, two of which came in the 2016 FA Cup Final and the 2017 League Cup Final.

Following Lingard’s successful loan spell at London Stadium in 2021, West Ham manager David Moyes is a huge fan of his, scoring nine goals in 16 games.

Everton boss Frank Lampard has also expressed interest as Barcelona and AC Milan have been in contact since the beginning of the summer.

Despite scoring twice as a substitute against Newcastle and West Ham in September, Lingard struggled for opportunities last season and made just two starts in the Premier League. That same month, he scored twice for England in a 4-0 win over Andorra.
