With three weeks left to get more views for the final two, Stranger Things has the potential to overtake the hit Korean series Squid Game.

The last two episodes of the fourth season of Stranger Things were just released on July 1, and the show has crossed the billion-hour mark, according to Netflix’s internal measurements. This makes Stranger Things the first English-language series to join a special Netflix club, and the second in any language.

According to a report in The Hollywood Reporter (THR), Stranger Things 4 has a viewing period of 1.15 billion hours in the first 28 days of its release, which includes both parts of the season. The first seven episodes have 930.32 million hours in the first 28 days, and 8 of the 301.28 million hours worldwide between June 27 and July 3 have less than 221 million hours.

With three weeks left to get more views for the final two, Stranger Things has the potential to overtake the hit Korean series Squid Game. Over the past three days, the last two episodes of the series have garnered 73 percent of Season 4’s views over the past week. And despite the new release, the first three seasons of the series also remained in Netflix’s English-language top 10 for the past month and a half.

According to THR, so far, Squid games alone have a whopping 1.65 billion hours of viewing time on all Netflix origins in the first 28 days.

THR reported that Stranger Things 4 broke several records, including the biggest debut weekend in the Netflix series and Nielsen’s highest weekly viewing number in the United States since the company launched its weekly streaming ranking.
