Dallas Mavericks get Christian Wood from Houston Rockets for 26th pick in NBA Draft, 4 players

Sources told ESPN that the Dallas Mavericks are receiving center / power forward Christian Wood from the Houston Rockets in exchange for No. 26 in the 2022 NBA Draft, and four players have been dropped.

Dallas will send Boban Marjanovic, Marquez Chris, Trey Burke and Sterling Brown to Houston, sources said, adding that the roster will create flexibility and add a productive big man.

Wood, 26, averaged 19.1 points and 9.9 rebounds in his two seasons with the Rockets. He is set to earn $ 14.3 million in the final season of his contract this year.

One of the primary goals of the Mavs, who entered the Western Conference finals in the off-season, was to improve the center.

The Rockets now have 3, 17 and 26 picks in next Thursday’s draft.
