In the women’s 57 kg semifinals, Arya Bartake started the day for Maharashtra with a thrilling 3-2 win over Anamika Yadav of Uttar Pradesh. On the other hand, Vaishnavi Waghmare (60 kg), Aditi Sharma (66 kg) and Sana Gonsalves (70 kg) won comfortably.

Aditi defeated Khushi Sharma of Delhi 5-0, while Vaishnavi and Sana filed a referee stopping contest (RSC) verdict against Garima Sharma of Chhattisgarh and Darshapreet Kaur of Punjab.

In the men’s category, Umar Sheikh (48kg) and Usman Ansari (51kg) of Maharashtra advanced to the semifinals with victories. Umar beat Tamil Nadu’s Yuveshwaran C 4-1, while Usman beat Haryana 5-0.

Meanwhile, Yamini Kanwar and Sunita were among the five women boxers from Rajasthan who made it to the semifinals.

Both Yamini (48kg) and Sunita (52kg) recorded impressive victories. Yamini defeated Janhvi Churi of Maharashtra 3-2 while Sunita defeated Sanjana Chaudhary of Gujarat 4-1.

Anju (57kg), Isha Gurjar (63kg) and Reena (75kg) were the other Rajasthan boxers who made it to the semifinals.

The championship, which will be held at SRM University Campus, Kattankulathur, will conclude on July 12.
