Why should Chelsea prefer Jules Condंडे to Matthias de Ligt?

Author – Sudip Banerjee

Kolkata, July 6: Chelsea’s transfer window has got off to a good start. The Blues have yet to sign a single one this summer, although they have seen several top players leave the club permanently or on loan.

The Blues are looking much better than last season and their ownership issues have finally been resolved. They have a new owner and have observed some major changes in the club’s hierarchy.

However, he needs to work in the transfer market soon as his competitors have already overtaken him. One place that is eager to add is central protection. The Blues have seen their two star center-backs Antonio Rudigar and Andreas Christensen leave the club on a free transfer.

Both players have been linked with a move to Chelsea. They are Sevilla defender Jules Conde and Juventus defender Mathiz de Ligt, respectively. They are both quality players and are considered one of the best young players in their roles at the moment.

Kaunde is 23 years old, De Ligt is 22 years old and their future is bright. And, these two could be a great addition to a West London club, but if they want to choose between the two, they should focus on the condo instead of the de ligate.

The first and foremost reason is that the price of a de ligate can be much higher than a cond. Juventus spent more than 75 million euros on his signature in 2019 and they are looking for a huge profit.

Condé is also expected to spend a fortune and Sevilla is known to be a tough negotiator. However, despite this, the French will all likely cost less.

Conde has been linked with a move to Chelsea since last season. In fact, the Blues were close to removing him last summer. This means that Thomas Tuchel and his team have extensively explored the Seville Star.

Beyond that, Konde appears to be more fit in Tuchel’s three-at-the-back system, thanks to his incredible range and skill of passing. De Ligt is a great defender, but the Blues already have a player like Thiago Silva. If Chelsea want to choose one of these, it makes a lot more sense than County de Ligt.
