Vancouver Canucks has re-signed a three-year deal with Brock Bowser with an average annual value of 6.65 million.
According to the cap-friendly, salary-tracking website, the deal includes a final season 10-team no-movement clause.
Patrick Alvin, general manager of Canucks, announced the deal with his pending banned free agent on Friday.
“We’re delighted to have a new contract for Brock,” Alvin said in a statement. “He is a very smart player and he has been an impressive goal scorer throughout his career. We look forward to seeing progress in his sport in the years to come. Now that his contract is for three seasons, Brock may turn his full attention to another. His performance on the ice. “
Bowser, 25, has a tough climate, both on and off the ice. He struggled outside the gates under former coach Travis Green, but recovered in the second half after Bruce Boudreau took over in December. Boiser finished with 23 goals and 46 points in 71 games.
At the end of the season, Baucer told reporters that his father was concerned about Duke’s deteriorating health, which had affected his performance. Duke died in May after receiving treatment for cancer and Parkinson’s disease.
Bowser’s 25th overall draft is an important part of the future in Vancouver’s 2015 NHL entry draft. Given his status as a pending RFA with no contract, Boezer was the subject of trade rumors during Canucks’ slow start last season, but the deal was never finalized.
Now that the winger has gained some long-term protection, Vancouver has refrained from managing a qualifying offer for the Boys later this month.
