Nashville, Tenn. – The mystery surrounding the Tennessee Titans ‘first-round pick Treylon Berks’ shock has been being tackled since Tuesday with the Dhuki MiniCamp getting some clarity.
“It’s unfortunate,” said Titans wide receiver coach Rob Moore before the team took to the field for the OTA. “Some of the things he’s dealing with are out of his control. The child has asthma. “
Burke could not do this from the first practice of his Rookie MiniCamp. He had been using an inhaler for a while before practice and had ice on his neck.
The threatening receiver continued training for the past two weeks but was not on the field for practice on Tuesday. Titans coach Mike Vrabel did not say whether the absence was related to asthma, only that Berks was “unavailable.”
Wrabel indicated that the Titans were aware of Burke’s asthma problems before picking him up to 18th overall in April and are confident he will be able to work through the problems as he prepares for the season.
Tennessee used one of two choices to replace AJ Brown to select Burke. The Titans have relied on Burke to play a key role in their offense this season.
“He understands what his expectations are,” Moore said. “I’m looking forward to what Trelon and he can bring to this football team. He just wants to keep himself healthy and show everyone on the field what he is capable of. “
