The Washington Wizards are finalizing a deal to replace Denver Nuggets guards Will Barton and Monte Morris with Kentavius Caldwell-Pope and Ish Smith, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wozniacki on Wednesday.
The business has now received final approval and is expected to be completed soon, sources said.
Barton started all 71 games he played with the Nuggets last season, averaging 14.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.9 game assists.
Morris played 75 games for Denver, 74 early in the tournament, averaging 12.6 points, 3 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game.
Caldwell-Pope played and started 77 games in his first full season with the Wizards for Washington. He averaged 13.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 rebounds in one game.
Smith was primarily featured in a backup role for Washington, averaging 6 points, 2 rebounds and 3 rebounds per contest in just 28 games last season.
