Actor Ranbir Kapoor said on Friday that he is not an angry man in real life and it works against him when he plays a fearless warrior in his upcoming film. ShamsheraKapoor has collaborated with filmmaker Karan Malhotra for a period action film, which tells the story of a bandit who fought for independence from his clan and from the British.
At the film’s trailer launch event here, Kapoor said that as an actor he doesn’t have “nervousness” and Malhotra had to work harder to use that side of his personality.
“It was very difficult for me (to make this film). Karan took my hand in his. One thing I lack as an actor.
“Karan got angry and we sat together for a long time. It was like, ‘How can I get angry at you for this persona?’ He went deep into my past, into my personal life, because he wanted to explore that side of me, ”the 39-year-old actor told reporters.
Kapoor credited Malhotra The path of fire (2012) and Brother (2015), to build a great creative partnership with them.
“I found a good partner in Karan. This role was very difficult and there were days when I used to say, ‘I can’t do this.’ While playing the role of this high octane world, physical stress, mental stress as well as emotions were increasing.
“It was like talking to God and saying, ‘I’m working hard, please give it back to me.’ Gone are the days but I’m glad I did. I couldn’t have done it without a director like Karan,” he said.
Shamshera This is Kapoor’s first film as an action hero. The actor said that previous filmmakers had not approached him for such an episode.
The actor said that he is bored with “My Comfort Zone” and the kind of film he is doing.
“After 15 years in the industry as an actor, you have to keep challenging yourself and crossing boundaries. No director has ever seen me in such a film. I am really thankful that Karan Malhotra offered me such a role as I do not get such offers. They usually see me as an aged or romantic boy.
“That’s why I jumped on the offer because I knew the film has the potential to speak to a larger audience, an audience that wants to go to the theater to experience the film,” he said.
Kapoor’s last theatrical release of 2018’s “Sanju” was a character drama film on the life of Sanjay Dutt and he now shares screen space with a veteran in his latest film. Shamshera,
Kapoor said that Dutt was his “first idol, my hero” since childhood.
“I have his poster, I know him. He has remained a family friend. Then I wanted to work in his role and portray his life. Now I have made him my slave. The journey has been incredible.
“He treats me like his son, brother, and friend. When I was making a bad film, he would call me and shout … He insisted that I want to make a big film and I believe that ‘Shamshera’ is a positive step in that direction, “he said.
Dutt, who plays Daroga Shuddha Singh, said he is excited to work with Malhotra again after “Agneepath”, in which he played the iconic villain of Kancha China.
“Karan makes ‘weird’ villains and he gave me very good villain parts. The character is a dangerous and cunning …
He said, “It’s fun to play these characters. I enjoy working with Karan. He has a few things on his mind, he loves to make high octane movies.
Vani Kapoor said that she played the role of Sona in this film ShamsheraA “Cinematic Experience, Larger Than Life” movie.

Malhotra said that Aditya Chopra, the head of Yashraj Films, had come up with the original idea ShamsheraWhen he wrote the screenplay with his wife Ekta Malhotra.
“It was my wife who suggested the title of the film. So this movie started.

Shamshera It is set to hit theaters on July 22. It will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
