Seattle Mariners bought first baseman Carlos Santana from the Kansas City Royals in exchange for RHPs Wyatt Mills, William Fleming

The Seattle Mariners announced Monday that they have bought infielder Carlos Santana from the Kansas City Royals.

The 36-year-old Santana has scored .216 in her 13th season, with four home runs and 21 RBIs this season. He is in the final season of a two-year deal with the Royals in 2021.

The trade sends the Royals to right-handed pitcher Wyatt Mills and the minor league right-hander William Fleming.

The 27-year-old Mills has a 4.15 ERA in 8⅔ innings for the Mariners this season but is 1-0 with a 1.83 ERA in 19⅔ innings for the Triple-A Tacoma.

Fleming is 6-6 with a 4.92 ERA of 23, 14 for the Mariners Single-A franchise in Modesto.

Also on Monday, the Royals called up their No. 3 potential, infielder Winnie Pasquantino from Triple-A Omaha. Pasquantino, 24, 2019 MLB June Kansas City was drafted in the 11th round of the Amateur Draft.
