Marathi filmmaker Kedar Shinde commemorated Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray on the occasion of the party’s 56th founding day. Shinde has shared a throwback photo of his father with Balasaheb.
While sharing the photo, Shinde wrote a lengthy letter and once revealed how Balasaheb Thackeray had come to his father’s house to meet him. “Today is Shiv Sena’s founding day … Old memories are fresh … Thackeray’s (Balasaheb Thackeray’s) visit to Baba’s home in western Maharashtra, despite the terror of veteran leaders of the time, Thackeray began his remarks The famous English daily had published a big picture of Baba in the newspaper and criticized Baba as ‘Balasaheb’s misleading blood thirsty’.
According to Shinde, the newspaper had also asked his father to stay away from Shiv Sena. While writing the history of Shiv Sena, his father’s contribution is not mentioned, said Shinde.
“I remember all this today. Baba voted for Shiv Sena till the end. Uncle Thackeray also loved Sable’s family. But sadly, when the history of Shiv Sena is written, Baba’s contribution will not be mentioned in it.
Famous director and actor is the grandson of famous Marathi folk artist Shahir Sable. Shahir’s son and his mama are famous musician and singer Devdutt Sable.
