NHL to open season with Tampa Bay Lightning-New York Rangers rematch

The NHL will open its 2022-23 regular season on October 11 with a heavyweight double-header, which will include a final rematch of the Eastern Conference between Tampa Bay and the New York Rangers and the Pacific Division of Los Angeles and Vegas.

It came to the fore on Wednesday afternoon when the NHL announced its full schedule for the coming year.

Breaking with tradition, the current Stanley Cup champions are not on the starting slate of the Colorado Avalanche League. Ball Arena was previously booked for the concert on Oct. 11, so Avalanche will raise their cup banners to the Rafters on Oct. 12 before facing the Chicago Blackhawks.

Colorado won their first post-2001 title by defeating Lightning in Game 6 in the Cup final last month and thwarted Tampa Bay’s hopes of a third rematch as league champions. They will both meet twice a week during the regular season, on February 9 in Tampa Bay and on February 14 in Colorado.

That’s fine after we worked on the NHL’s All-Star break between February 2-5. The annual skills competition and star-studded game will take place February 3-4 at the FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida.

The league’s annual outdoor sports program is also underway. The Winter Classic will take place on January 2 at Fenway Park between Boston and Pittsburgh, and Carolina will host Washington for the stadium series matchup on February 18 at NC State’s Carter-Finlay Stadium.

In addition, the NHL is bringing back its world series that will take four clubs across the lake. Nashville and San Jose play the opening matches of the season on October 7 and 8 at the O2 Arena in Prague, Czech Republic. On November 4 and 5, Columbus and Colorado will meet at the Nokia Arena in Tampere, Finland.

Some other highlights on the agenda for the NHL:

ियल Montreal will begin the regular season against Toronto at home on October 12, likely to be selected No. 1 in this year’s entry draft. Will Shane Wright be at the center? Juraj Slafkowski on the wing? There is no time like the original Six Matchup for an NHL debut.

असतील There will be six straight road games in Arizona before hosting Winnipeg on October 28th. Coyotes are renting space at Arizona State University, where 5,000 seats are still being built (hence the slate of early-season away games). Arizona had to invest millions of dollars in ASU to create an NHL-approved add-on, and the Jets would get their first crack while ice testing – literally.

म Edmonton were knocked out of their Western Conference Final Series the following season, beating the finalists. Colorado will meet the Oilers again on January 7 for a Saturday night showdown for the Slugfest arena.

• Removed (or not renewed) coaches will make their various returns to the familiar warehouse – Bruce Cassidy will take the Golden Knights back to Boston on December 5, John Tortorela to Philadelphia on November 10 to Columbus, Paul Morris to Florida in December. Winnipeg. 6, Peter Deborah returns to Vegas behind the Dallas bench on January 16, Rick Bones leaves early with the Winnipeg Jets to face his former star on October 17, and Jim Montgomery brings Valentine della Bruins back to Dallas.

काही Some hostility action is underway for Thanksgiving Weekend when Pittsburgh will visit Philadelphia on November 25, before another showdown between Tampa Bay and St. Louis that evening.
