Milwaukee Bucks, Pat Cannon agree to 3-year, 28.5 million expansion

Milwaukee box guard Pat Canton has agreed to the player’s option for a three-year, 28.5 million extension, his agent Jeff Schwartz and Excel basketball’s Jordan Gertler told ESPN’s Adrian Wozniacki on Tuesday.

Canton’s total contract is now Rs 34 crore for four years.

He had earlier used the return option in the 2022-23 season.

The 2015 second round selection from Notre Dame, the Canton Bucks became the focal point of the rotation as the team evolved into a competitor over the past few seasons.

Canton, 29, enjoyed his best season last year, posting career highs in points (9.5), minutes (26.5) and 3-point percentage (39.5%). After missing a month of the season due to a hand injury, Cannon returned for a stretch run and helped the injured Milwaukee team advance to the second round of the playoffs.

Canon has been a great shooter in the last two seasons, shooting 45% on Corner 3, and the 3-point effort has increased to about six per game in the previous season. Standing on a 6-foot-5 with 6-foot-9 wings, he has also shown to be a strong, versatile defender.
