NEW YORK: The Houston Astros have named five-time all-star Michael Brantley in their 10-day injury list with a right shoulder problem.
The team announced the move on Tuesday ahead of the game against the New York Mets.
In the eighth inning on Sunday, Brantley lost 6-3 to the Houston New York Yankees. He was 0-3-3 with two strikes in place of pinch hitter JJ Matijevi.
The 35-year-old outfielder has hit .288 in 64 games this season with five homers and .785 OPS.
Two days after being demoted, outfielder Chas McCormick was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land. Right-hander Anoli Parades was also called up and right-hander Brandon Bilak was selected in Triple-A after Sunday’s defeat.
Los Angeles Angeles apologized to outfielder Dillon Thomas after naming Houston for the assignment on Friday.
