The hosts stunned the Indian bowlers in the first two matches as they lost by 50 and 49 runs respectively. In the third and final match, Butler and his teammates will be aiming for a consolation win in the next three ODI series against India in two days.
In the inconsistent third T20I, India have made four changes to their playing XI. Yuzvendra Chahal, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jaspreet Bumrah have been rested while Shreyas Iyer, Awesh Khan, Umran Malik and Ravi Bishnoi have been included in the playing XI.
Here is the pre-match fare – toss update, 11th game information, pitch report and comments of England captain’s third T20I against India.
England decided to bat first
Jason Roy, Jose Butler (W / C), David Malan, Philip Salt, Liam Livingstone, Harry Brook, Moin Ali, David Wiley, Chris Jordan, Reese Witherspoon, Richard Gleason
Rohit Sharma (A), Rishabh Pant (W), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Dinesh Karthik, Ravindra Jadeja, Hershal Patel, Awesh Khan, Umran Malik, Ravi Bishnoi.
England captain Jose Butler:
We will bat first. Looks like a great wicket, just looking for change. There are two types – Reese in Basket and Phil in Salt, Salt will bat at 4 p.m. Parkinson and Curran out. A shiny surface is visible, the side is still very convincing.
India captain Rohit Sharma:
We’ve been on the field before. Had batted first twice and had to chase at least once. Four changes for us – Ravi Bishnoi, Awesh Khan, Umran Malik and Shreyas Iyer. He replaced Bhuvi, Bumrah, Chahal and Hardik. We don’t want to lose our confidence to win, but we want to see a few things before the World Cup, so make a change. We are excited for Umran, wish him well and give him confidence.
