Sunrise, Fla. – Florida Panthers winger Anthony Duclair has undergone surgery to repair Achilles tendon injury and is expected to miss a lot of time next season, the team announced Saturday.
Duclair, 26, who injured left Achilles tendon in off-season training, is expected to return to midfield in 2022-23.
With 31 goals and 27 assists, he is coming down to his best professional season. Florida won the President’s Trophy as the top team in the regular season before losing to Eastern Conference champions Tampa Beck in the second round of the playoffs.
Duclair is entering the second season of a 9 9 million, three-year contract that is one of the best deals in the NHL at that level of production. The Panthers could save Duclair from a long-term injury when he starts using the $ 3 million pay-cap hit for other moves next season.
