Bryson DeChambeau does not plan to play PGA Tour Travelers Championship during LIV scrutiny

Brooklyn, Mass. – Bryson Dechambeau says he has no plans to play in the PGA Tour Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands next week.

The 2020 US Open winner, Dechembu, joined the Saudi-backed LIV golf invitation series last week. Addressing the crowd at The Country Club, he briefed the passengers on the situation but did not ask any questions.

“So far, I’m not playing next week,” Dechambu told ESPN on Wednesday.

The PGA Tour has suspended 17 players from participating in the first LIV golf tournament in London last week.

DeChambeau’s final PGA Tour is expected to take place, with the next LIV golf event starting June 30 in Portland, Oregon. Patrick Reed and Pat Perez’s fellow PGA Tour golfers have also joined LIV Golf since last week’s event in London.

Arriving at the country club on Monday, Dechambu told the golf channel that his decision to join the new series was a “business decision” and “for my family’s future.”
