Arsenal linked with Paulo Diabala, is there a good deal?

The 28-year-old is currently a free agent, whose Juventus contract expired last month.

Dibala has had a great seven years with the Old Lady, during which he was one of their best players. He played a total of 293 appearances for Juventus in seven seasons, scoring 115 goals and assisting 48.

Although his reputation at Juventus Stadium has waned over the past three years, he has always worked for the club. Last season, he scored 15 goals in 39 games and hit another six.

Dybala is not ready for anything and would ideally be a valuable addition to almost every top club in Europe. Manchester United are also believed to be looking forward to the 28-year-old as they are shaken by the news of Cristiano Ronaldo’s possible departure.

An all-rounder and fast forward, Diabala is able to play anywhere in the final third. He is best suited for the role of secondary striker, as well as being convenient to lead the attack as number nine. Argentina is also able to play at number ten or either side.

If you take a look at the current Arsenal team, there is very little room for someone like Diabala. They already have Eddie Necketia and the preferred target Gabriel Jesus is also on his way to the emirate.

Mikel Arteta also has Martin Odegard and new signing Fabio Vieira in tenth place, while he also has a wide range of options. Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Emil Smith Rowe and Nicolas Pepe are all in a wide selection.

Therefore, it is not clear why Arsenal will be interested in Dibala. Argentina certainly has a lot of quality and experience at a high level but its salary will also be at a high level. It will feel like Mikel Arteta’s luxury signature.

Managing a large squad is not the easiest and avoiding diabetic may be in the best interest of the gunners. The arrival of Argentina could lead to resentment among young players as it could lead to a big reduction in their playing time.
