The Chicago Bulls have agreed a one-year deal with veteran point guard Goran Dragic, sources confirmed to ESPN on Sunday.
The Brooklyn Nets won a dramatic sweepstakes last season, signing contracts after passing the guard, defeating the Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, LA Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks.
He played just 16 regular-season games for Brooklyn and struggled somewhat with the Toronto Raptors after sitting out most of the season. However, Dragick found his form in the playoffs, averaging 10.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists and shooting 56% off the field in just under 20 minutes per game.
Athletic was the first to complain about Dragik’s contract with the Bulls.
The 36-year-old is known for boosting his game in the playoffs. Running in the NBA Finals in 2020, he averaged 19 points per game for the Miami Heat, before being sidelined against the Lakers due to a plantar fasciitis injury.
Entering its 15th NBA season, Dragick has a career average of 13.7 points and 4.8 assists, with 46% shooting from the field and 36% from the field. He won the NBA’s Most Improved Player of the Year award in 2013-14, making him the only All-NBA team. Same season
