India v Derbyshire: Hooda, Sanju, Suryakumar guide Indians to victory in T20 practice match.

Derbyshire won the toss and elected to bat, and the hosts lost 8 wickets in 20 overs and scored 150 runs in the match against India in Derbyshire.

India, led by Dinesh Karthik, got Derbyshire in trouble by dismissing openers Shaun Masood and Lewis Rees in just four overs.

The hosts could not reach any speed. Initially four Derbyshire batsmen were sent to the pavilion.

Wayne Madsen scored 28, Alex Hughes 24 in 17 and Hilton Cartwright 27, yet his team scored a total of 150 in 20 overs.

Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik took two wickets respectively, leaving the hosts unable to reach the final.

Chasing a target of 151, the Indian team got off to a bad start.

Ruturaj Gaikwad was sent back to the pavilion for a total of 5 runs. However, Sanju Samson (38) and Deepak Hooda (59) made it easy for India to win.

Suryakumar Yadav scored 36 not out. Thus, the Indian team won the match by 7 wickets with 20 balls to spare.

Karthik’s India will play their second practice match against Northampton on Sunday before the three-match T20I series starting July 7.
