PHILADELPHIA – Phillies slugger Bryce Harper underwent successful surgery Wednesday to repair his broken left thumb, interim manager Rob Thomson said, but there is no timetable for his return.
Philadelphia hopes the 2021 NL MVP can play again this season. “It simply came to our notice then,” Thomson said.
Thomson denied all other questions to Harper about the surgery, which is expected to return to Philadelphia this week to resolve the situation.
San Diego Padres left-hander Blake Snell’s fast ball injured Harper on Saturday night.
The 29-year-old batsman 318 with 15 homers and 48 RBIs.
