On Wednesday, Janet Cook II became the latest prospect to join Steve Sarkisian’s emerging recruitment.
Cook, ranked 43rd overall in the 2023 ESPN 300, is a 6-foot, 175-pound wide receiver at DeSoto High School in Texas.
He is the ninth player to commit to Sarkisian and Texas since quarterback Arch Manning announced on June 23.
“With Arch Manning, no one can cheat on me and him,” Cook told 247 Sports. I will have Queen Evers in the new year, so I’m sure I’ll get the best two quarterbacks in college football. “
Cook, who has been pledging for Longhorn since Saturday, is the third ESPN 300 recruit to join safety Derek Williams (No. 76) and wide receiver Jonah Wilson (No. 278).
According to ESPN’s recruitment rankings, the 2023 Texas class ranks 10th overall and is the only statistic to go from there.
