Leclerc dismissed reports of tensions in Ferrari after the British GP

Teammate Carlos Senz won the British Grand Prix last weekend after Charles Leclerc dismissed reports of a split and disappointment at Ferrari on Thursday.

An Italian report says Leclerc’s engineers boycotted the photo to celebrate Science’s first Formula One victory when his man lost a strategic victory at Silverstone.

Leclerc led the race, but other people, including Senz, stayed up late in the safety car after standing up for fresh, fast tires.

With the Monegasque driver restarting after a fourth-place finish and not a draw for them, seventh-placed Red Bull championship leader Max Verstappen missed a great opportunity to close the gap.

Asked about the reports, Leclerc said at the Austrian Grand Prix: “It’s a shame to see all this.

“It’s definitely not what’s happening in the team. We’re a very united team, we always have been and this tough race will change that.

“Were we disappointed after last weekend? I think because we were one-two and we finished one-four, so some parts of the team were disappointed. But of course not everyone was in the picture.”

Leclerc said the time was tough, late at night, and half the team missed the plane that stopped for a photo.

“We wanted to do the first picture … but Carlos wasn’t there,” he said. “So we had to delay everything. But not harsh feelings.

“Everyone was very happy for Carlos and that feeling is on the team.”

Senz said Leclerc had to attend anti-doping, so he could not attend Ferrari’s post-race driver briefing as usual.

“As usual he behaved like a gentleman like him and the briefing became as normal as it should have been,” Spaniard said.
