SAN FRANCISCO – Against the backdrop of UCLA and USC’s decision to move into the Big Ten, Pac-12 is in talks for its next media rights deal.
Pac-12 announced official discussions with its board of directors after a meeting Tuesday morning.
The convention’s current media rights agreement expires in 2024, but Pac-12 accelerated the timeline for further negotiations with its two major events.
UCLA and USC announced last Thursday that they are leaving the convention for the Big Ten in 2024, leaving the Pac-12 the second-largest media market in the country.
Pac-12 already has the lowest distribution number among Power Five schools, paying सदस्य 19.8 million to its member organizations in 2021, and the number is expected to decline as it loses two Southern California schools.
