Colin Munro, the CPL’s all-time leading runner-up abroad, and New Zealand’s teammate Seifert have returned with the Knight Riders for the CPL 2022 tournament.
He will be joined by USA international Ali Khan who has been with the Knight Riders for another year and first joined them in 2017.
Sri Lankan internationals Mahesh Thekshana and Sikkuge Prasanna completed overseas deals for CPL 2022, Prasanna rejoined the Knight Riders in 2019 to stay with the franchise.
The Knight Riders will have five more seats to fill out the draft CPL 2022, details of the selection were announced during a draft show airing this Thursday (July 7).
“We are very happy with our overseas contracts this year. Venki Mysore, director, Trincomalee Knight Riders, said the idea is to maintain the core of the team while adding some new resources to strengthen the team for CPL 2022.
Colin Munro, Ali Khan and Tim Seifert have all made significant contributions to TKR in the past and have shared great bonds with our local players and franchises.
“We look forward to welcoming two Sri Lankans, Sikuge Prasanna and Mahesh Thekshana, to complete our overseas roster for TKR this year.
“Of course, Seikuge has already represented us in 2019, and with the arrival of Theksana, the team for this upcoming edition is preparing very well for us,” he added.
The Trincomalee Knight Riders will have 5 more players to choose from in the CPL Players Draft 2022. TKR is the most successful team in the CPL with four championships.
