Free-agent center Mitchell Robinson has agreed to a four-year, $ 60 million deal to stay with the New York Knicks, his agent, Thad Foucher and Joe Smith of Wasserman Basketball, ESPN’s Adrian Wozniacki said.
Robinson, a second-round pick in 2018, became a gem of that draft for the Knicks when the first-round pick failed to knock out Kevin Knox.
Robinson played a career-high 72 games (62 starts) last season after an injury-plagued 2020-21 campaign. According to Stathead.com, he averaged 8.5 points per game, shooting 76.1% on the highest sting diet in NBA history for a player attempting more than 250 shots.
Robinson, 24, is known for his rim safety. Playing less than 24 minutes per game, he has averaged two blocks per game for the rest of his career.
He earned $ 1.8 million last season, the final year of his four-year contract with the Knicks after the draft.
